Isn't all this fuss being made over the pope kinda like worshipping a false God ?

I'm australian and the only thing on TV the last few days has been the pope and world youth day which has brought about 300'000 catholic "pilgrims" . . Doesn't this amount to worship of a false God therefore breaking one of the 10 commandments ?
