Schizophrenia -- seeing words in my mind?

Hello. My name is Joe, and I suffer from schizophrenia. I see words in my mind that tell me to do things, which is intertwined with a religious concept. Like, the words claim to be from Jesus Christ. The words started about 3 years ago, and I can't get them out of my mind ever since. I've seen doctors for this condition, and I am currently taking medication. For example, the words will say to me whether or not a person is a liar, to rejoice or else I will be killed, and to turn the faucet on and wash my hands, or else I will die a miserable death. I listen to the voices, and when I don't do what they say they get very angry at me. I don't know what to do. My question is how do I cope with this?
