Is it true that truckers prefer thermoses with floppy handles a.k.a. "flexible" handles?

Is it true that truckers prefer thermoses with floppy handles a.k.a. "flexible" handles? If so, why? I ask this because I use a two-quart thermos for home use, and I hate those floppy handles which hurts my hand/wrist when trying to maneuver it and position it for pouring. Why the heck did Thermos-Brand discontinue their good-old non-skimpy 2 quart gl-lined with black-plastic exterior which had a black plastic sturdy handle as part of the mold? I would have been using that forever, except that it has loads of calcium buildup on the gl. (I tried baking soda & hot water - no dice). Naturally, that superior Thermos-brand cost me $10 at a local housewares about 10 years ago, and it's still going strong after daily usage. Except of course for the calcification. Compare that to the current lineup (Not Necessarily ThermosBrand...) which have those uncomfortable handles and at least one brand which touts itself as 2 qt. is really skimpier than 2 qt, which I know for a fact when comparing it with my old 2-qt PlasticExteriored ThermosBrand.
